AdSweep
FAQ
AdSweep breaks a certain site. Can I disable AdSweep for that site?
Yes. Click the AdSweep icon next to the address-bar and click “Disable ad-blocking for this site”.
What is ‘live mode’?
Live mode is a feature which updates rules for sites dynamically, rather than just relying on cache. The drawback of this is that the domains you visit show up in my logs. I don’t use this information in any way, but it’s a privacy concern which is why it’s disabled by default. You can see live mode is enabled if the AdSweep logo has a globe.
What does ‘Javascript-based blocking’ mean?
AdSweep has the ability to use Javascript code injected into the page to remove certain advertisements, such as YouTube ads in the videos. As this poses a security risk if my server ever got compromised, I disabled it by default. Use at your own risk.
